the Department

Our well-coordinated unit is a division that originated within the structure of the Special Forces Command, went through the key phases of the ATO/JFO, and in 2016 became a formidable fighting force. It was then that a young and talented commander—Da Vinci—took the helm of our unit.

With the start of the full-scale invasion, we integrated into the structures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fought in the ranks of the Special Operations Forces, and in October 2022 became one of the battalions of the 67th Mechanized Brigade of the Right Sector. This newly formed brigade-level unit brought together separate combat units of the Right Sector and gave them new life. For a time, we fought as the 1st Separate Assault Battalion within the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Ground Forces. We have now expanded to become the 1st Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Ground Forces.

Since February 24, 2022, the unit has carried out combat missions in the Kyiv, Bakhmut, Lyman, Kupiansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kurakhiv, and other sectors; it participated in the liberation of the Kharkiv region and continues its mission to defeat the russian occupiers in the Donetsk sector.
